Strategic Military Recovery & Logistic Support
EKA Limited is the leading specialist in military vehicle recovery systems, winch installations and chassis integration.
Over 40 years of experience has given EKA the ability to develop a uniquely tailored and customer focused approach to the design and development of vehicle recovery and load handling systems. Through a deep understanding of our customer’s operating environment and capability requirements we deliver best of breed solutions with first class capabilities.
Modular & Platform independent
Our engineering philosophy has its foundations in a modular approach to equipment design. This framework allows us to ensure that our market leading solutions can be delivered independently of other platform centric requirements. Indeed, our focus on capability rather than platform has proved a successful route to building a strong and lasting reputation for reliability, performance and engineering excellence.
Partnership for Success
As a result of many years of engineering and commercial co-operation, EKA cemented its relationship with ROTZLER GmbH by taking up the sole distribution rights for ROTZLER winch systems in the UK.
From then on, ROTZLER and EKA have enjoyed continued success in developing winch applications and integrating hydraulic and digital control systems into new projects. Of particular note is the adoption by the Ministry of Defence of the ROTZLER CAN-Bus control system for the SuperCompact recovery vehicle.
Heritage & Experience
In 1975, EKA Limited was formed to develop and deliver a new Low Mobility Recovery Vehicle for the British Army, capable of lifting 7.5 Tonnes and recovering a range of tracked and wheeled military assets. The project was a success, and 135 vehicles were delivered by the end of the contract which served in theatres across the world.

Subsequent to this EKA Limited was requested to develop the concept for the Ministry of Defence GS Recovery Vehicle, culminating in the supply of 333 recovery systems. In parallel with this EKA invented and developed the Simple Rail Transfer Equipment (SRTE) as part of the DROPS project.
The EKALIFT 2000 & 2500 Recovery System was designed and developed as a possible interim solution to the MoD’s short fall in recovery vehicles to meet ever bigger in-service dependencies. The Stevedore trailer mounted load transfer system followed and was supplied to the Irish Defence Force along with the EKALIFT 2500 recovery vehicle.
The EKA D series underlift recovery vehicle was also supplied to London Transport at this time. D series underlift recovery vehicles have also been supplied for use on the gun ranges in Benbecula and to the Royal Air Force. Container handling systems have also been supplied to British Nuclear Group.
