EKA Limited is pleased to announce it is joined by System Design & Evaluation Limited (SDE) under EKA Group Holdings Limited, parent organisation of both EKA Limited and SDE. This development marks an important step in strengthening the combined capability available to the UK Ministry of Defence and wider defence community.
EKA Limited will continue to operate under its established name and remain the Group’s specialist engineering business for military vehicle recovery systems, special-to-role equipment, chassis integration and load-handling solutions. Since its founding in 1978, EKA has built a strong reputation through the delivery of reliable, supportable and field-proven capability to the British Army, UK MOD and military customers in Europe and the Middle East.
With more than five decades of proven delivery to military customers, EKA Limited is best known for its work in recovery vehicle capability, having delivered three generations of recovery systems and supported critical platforms including CRARRV and MLRS Repair and Recovery Vehicles. Its expertise spans design, development, integration, manufacture, in-service support, integrated logistics support and lifecycle management.
The new Group structure brings EKA Limited together with SDE, an established independent technical assurance and specialist defence advisory business operating across land, maritime and air domains. This combination creates a broader and more integrated offering for defence customers, aligning practical engineering delivery with safety, supportability, environmental and risk-management expertise.
Michael Keech, CEO of EKA Group Holdings, said: “EKA Group Holdings brings together highly complementary capabilities by aligning EKA Limited’s proven engineering delivery with SDE’s independent technical assurance. We are creating a stronger proposition for UK MOD and a more capable long-term partner for complex defence programmes.”
For customers, the benefit is clear. Engineering decisions can be informed and validated in parallel, risks can be identified earlier, and assurance can be embedded throughout programme delivery. This supports stronger governance, better-informed decision-making and more coherent through-life capability management.
The expansion of EKA Group also reinforces the commitment to UK sovereign capability, helping sustain critical engineering and technical assurance skills within the UK and contributing to resilience in the domestic defence industrial base.
EKA Limited remains fully committed to its customers, partners and programmes, and will continue to provide the collaborative, transparent and delivery-focused approach for which it is known. As part of EKA Group, the EKA Limited is now even better placed to support complex, high-consequence defence programmes with dependable engineering capability and stronger access to complementary assurance expertise.
